Blood-Sucking Empress Ch. 96

Chapter 96: Eyes like the Stars

Mo Ling’s speed was very fast, but even sitting on  his back, one did not feel the slightest jolt, so it was very comfortable. But even so, it was still too stimulating for Luo Xingchen. But fortunately, the hands wrapped around his waist were very safe, allowing him to feel safe and warm at the same time. He never acted so recklessly in his life and he had never felt so close to happiness.

Gradually, Luo Xingchen got used to this speed of competing with the wind and peered around him. HIs melancholy expression gradually lightened and there was a light joy in his eyes, shining like the stars.

“Your Majesty, look, that ancient tree over there, truly marvelous.” Luo Xingchen suddenly caught sight of a very mystical-looking ancient tree and cried out, half turned around to look back at Liyou. And at this time, Liyou was also looking at him and caught sight of those bright eyes, so beautiful…

Impulsive, Liyou kissed those star-like eyes. The light kiss seemed to have no meaning but a strange feeling fell between the two of them at this moment.

Liyou was taken aback by her impulsive action. She had kissed him and it had been very natural. She had kissed him without even thinking about it.

“You have a beautiful pair of eyes, you should smile more.” Mo Ling slowed down and Liyou said this in admiration. But it was a pity, his smile happened far too few, even rarer than those eyes that shined like stars.

Luo Xingchen had yet to react from that light kiss just now and hearing the Empress’ praise, he felt dizzy for a while.

“Empress…Your Majesty…” Luo Xingcheng became nervous, why did the Empress suddenly say such embarrassing words? He did not know how to react. But, did he look good when he smiled?

“En? What do you want to say?” Liyou saw Luo Xingchen’s shy appearance and could not help but soften her tone. She was always afraid that if she raised her voice, she would scare the man in her arms. He was really too sensitive and his melancholy appearance made people afraid to approach.

“This consort thanks the Empress for the compliment, but this consort is not so good.” The Empress had never praised him before, this was the first time.

“It is good to smile more. When you are in a bad mood, come out for a walk. Don’t always act like you have been wronged.” She had kept those words in her heart for a long time and never had a chance to say them out.

“Has this consort done so?” The infectious joyous mood was tinged with sadness. Luo Xingchen thought about his life in the palace and he did not have the confidence to answer such a question. He knew that he had because he always felt that he was unhappy. It was not that vast palace that had trapped him, but his own heart had trapped him. He knew this and knew all of this was true, but he could not get out of his own predicament.

“No? If you dare to say no, Zhen will throw you over.” Liyou tightened her arms and said this in Luo Xingchen’s ear with a dangerous tone. Luo Xingchen’s body tensed and the breath of the Empress drew closer. It had been a long time since he had been so close to the Empress and Luo Xingchen began to feel his face grow hot and his thoughts were confused.

“No, don’t.” Luo Xingchen whispered, really believing that the Empress would throw him down….

“Fool.” Liyou loosened the hand around Luo Xingchen’s waist, so that he would not be so nervous. But, seeing that he was really scared, she could not help teasing the man.

Luo Xingchen’s eyes fluttered and he realized that he had been teased by the Empress. An embarrassed and bashful expression appeared.

Liyou observed Luo Xingchen’s rich expression changes and could not help but sigh that Luo Xingchen was really a pitiful little man.

Luo Xingchen had been teased to the point that he stopped talking. But, Liyou did not want to let him go so easily and continued to whisper in his ear, “Why are you shy, not talking anymore? Or are you angry with Zhen?” Hearing the Empress say that she thought that he was angry, Luo Xingchen eagerly explained that he was such an idiot that he could not even speak properly right now.

“Then give Zhen a kiss to prove that you are noy angry.” Liyou put one arm around Luo Xingchen to prevent him from falling and slowly slid her hand towards his neck. Her entire body was pasted to his back, smelling in his scent and stimulating her senses.

Liyou buried her head between Luo Xingchen’s neck, wandering ambiguously. Her lips brushed against Luo Xingchen’s neck either intentionally or unintentionally and because she was so close, she could even feel Luo Xingchen’s stiff reaction.

“Afraid?” Liyou turned Luo Xingchen’s face toward her own, observing his reaction. Xingchen did not dare to raise his eyes, lowering his head shyly.

“No…” Xingchen felt that his voice seemed to be trembling. If the Empress was not holding onto him at this time, he might not have been able to sit on Mo Ling at this moment. He felt powerless, weak all over, as if he had lost his strength.

“So obedient.” Liyou kissed Xingchen again and then let him go, allowing Mo Ling to speed up again.

The slightly cool breeze blew away some of the heat and the ambiguous atmosphere between the two of them. Xingchen remained obedient in Liyou’s arms, his ruddy complexion never changing.

When Liyou took Xingchen back, everyone was still waiting. Qin Ning was teaching the rest how to ride horses and Anhui also accompanied them, watching over everyone carefully. They all greeted Liyou when the Empress came back.

“How are you all learning?” Liyou asked everyone, especially the beginners. Compared to what she had seen earlier, they seemed to have improved and could already gallop a few steps on horseback.

“Replying to the Empress, this consort is stupid and can only learn a thing or two.” Li Qujun had a thin layer of sweat on his forehead and he looked full of energy. He had always wanted to learn how to ride a horse. Now that his wish had finally come true, he felt very excited.

“Very happy?” Seeing Li Qujun like this, she did not need to ask to know it was true. As for Sang Zixin, even though he just stood to the side and smiled subtly, one could tell that he was very happy. Liyou liked seeing people like this.

“Yes.” Li Qujun flashed the Empress a bright smile and affirmed his emotions.

Liyou left the hunting ground with everyone and a mighty procession of people headed to the King Consort’s Fengqing Palace together, sharing a meal together before returning to their respective quarters.

After more than a month of preparation, the Sang Empire finally became the territory of Qianhe. From the appointment of officials to various departments, to issuing official documents to the other three countries, or whether it was the perception of the people of each country or from the actual fact, Sang had become a part of Qianhe and the name of the country had disappeared from the national language. The towns and cities would retain their original names, but even so, some people from the Sang Empire would not agree with this established fact and they tried to employ several little tricks behind the scenes, trying to influence this decision from various aspects. Qianhe naturally also prevented this and many of the rebels had been captured and imprisoned.

However, there will always be fish that slip through the net. The Sang Empire had existed for a long time and the power and influence accumulated by the Imperial family could not be disintegrated in a day or two. Liyou had already sent people to search through the entire country. She naturally understood the principle of cutting grass at its roots and she did not want these people to cause trouble again!

But there was always that one in a million chance!

The night was dark as the moon shone, the wind gusting through the trees. Before midnight, a few black figures flashed past quickly, avoiding the guards’ detection and they separated in a small courtyard. A few rushed towards the direction of the Empress’ bedroom.

Qianhe Liyou discovered the existence of these people at the same time as they approached. When these people rushed into the bedroom and tried to assassinate her, she was already prepared and a few dodges restrained the attackers. There were seven people in total and many of them stood in the Imperial study like wooden figures.

“Your Majesty, when I am at your side, I always feel ashamed.” How could Anhui not feel ashamed when he had not sensed the assassin’s approach and also the fact that the Empress did not need him to take action.

“Fool, I did not ask you to stay by my side to catch assassins. Investigate the origins of these people and then take them away.” This was not the first batch of assassins that had infiltrated the palace and she had dealt with them all, she was already growing numb to the process.

“Yes.” Anhui walked in front of one of the people and lifted the person’s face mask. “Where did you come from?”

“Hmph, just kill us.” Obviously, the assassin was already prepared to die. If they dared to enter the palace, they were already mentally prepared.

“I knew you would say that, but even if you don’t tell me, I still know where you came from. Someone come, take these assassins to the Sky prison.” Anhui had always felt that the Anbu Black Ops’ intelligence system was very accurate and was already deeply embedded across the four countries. But, as more and more assassins appeared, he found that even the most sophisticated system still had loopholes. There were too many. After all, there were too many people in this world and there were too many things in this world. It was impossible to guard against everything. He was very grateful that the Empress had extraordinary abilities to protect herself. He could not imagine how he would live if something happened to her!

The assassins were taken down, but it did not stay quiet for long. There was a loud commotion in the palace and someone reported it.

“Reporting to the Empress, the King Dowager has been kidnapped!”

Liyou was furious, rushing out with a cold expression etched on her face and she arrived at Luo Yu’s Luoxian Palace within a single breath. The two assassins outside Luoxian Palace had been surrounded and Luo Yu was being held hostage. There was already a trace of blood red on his neck. The situation was very critical!

“Let us leave or we will kill him!” The assassins looked at the surrounding crowd viciously, the dagger tightly pressed against Luo Yu’s neck.

However, no matter how critical the situation was, it could not stop Liyou from rescuing the people he wanted to save. When Liyou arrived, she rushed over without wasting any time and saved Luo Yu in the blink of an eye. The two assassins could only stare blankly. They stood there without moving, already immobilized by the spell!

Liyou looked at Luo Yu, the glaring red color making her face turn cold again. She turned to look at the two assassins and gloomily said, “You actually hurt him, unforgivable!”

Black mist shot out from Liyou’s palm, wrapping the two assassins in an instant and then loud wailing rang out. The heart-piercing sounds made the listeners feel horrible…

“You will be in pain all day and night, this is the price you should pay for hurting someone you shouldn’t have hurt!” Liyou picked up Luo Yu speaking and directly flew back to the bedroom….
