Blood-Sucking Empress Ch. 98

Chapter 98: Summoning the Envoys

Liyou was very concerned about Luo Yu’s injury. She knew everything was fine, but she still went to visit him every day. However, she didn’t stop there. She went to have a cup of tea and after a few glances, she left. Although her movements and tone were very insipid, insipidness did not mean indifference. At least Luo Yu could feel that You’er’s attitude towards him was gradually improving and she no longer avoided his gaze, which made him feel relieved.

Luo Yu had always been an ascetic person who rarely expected anything, but now, the only thing he expected was to get along with You’er normally.

“Rest more, I am leaving.” Liyou got up and said her farewells to Luo Yu.

Luo Yu nodded, already used to Liyou’s way of getting along with him these past few days. But, it’s just that habits were habits, why did he still feel disappointed in his heart? What was he looking forward to? Luo Yu was a little confused.

Liyou took two steps but halted, “Do you still remember what you said on your birthday?”

“….What do you mean?” Of course he remembered, but what was the meaning of asking him at such a time?

“The meaning is, I listened to what you said.” She believed that Luo Yu would understand the meaning of her words, so she simply left after she finished speaking. Just as she thought that day, if Luo Yu was always hers alone, she did not care what kind of relationship they had. She had said before that she did not understand love!

Luo Yu pondered carefully before coming to an understanding. Did Liyou’s words mean that they had…..reconciled?

When Liyou was certain that the envoys sent by the three kingdoms were about done delivering the gifts, she finally granted them an audience in the court hall

The envoys from the three kingdoms totaled to hundreds of people, but Liyou only allowed one person from each congregation to have an audience, so there were only three people standing in the middle of the hall.

“Chu Rong, the envoy of the Zhongli Kingdoms greets the Qianhe Empress, may Qianhe always be prosperous!”

“Wu Siduo, the envoy of the Nan Kingdomg greets the Qianhe Empress, may Qianhe always be prosperous!”

“Jia Duoluo ,the envoy of the Yingjia Kingdoms greets the Qianhe Empress, may Qianhe always be prosperous!”

The envoys finally got to see what Qianhe Liyou looked like and they were very excited. Even as they were making their greetings, they peeked at Liyou, wanting to see what the Qianhe Empress, who had made them wait for such a long time, looked like.

Liyou did not mind letting the three of them get their fill and at the same time, but could not help secretly thinking that the three of them had come with secret missions. The Anbu Black Ops had wasted a lot of manpower and material resources, but still ultimately failed to find out their specific missions. That is why she had delayed summoning them until she had been left with no other option.

Zhen is going to visit the little Imperial Prince in a little bit. If the three envoys have something to say, merely speak.” She had seen too many tricks and she was growing tired of it.

The three of them were all taken aback and it was the first time they had ever met such a direct Empress. But, the other meaning behind such directness was that this Empress was really too arrogant.

Obviously, Liyou’s attitude caused all three to be unhappy, but since these three people represented a country, they were not fools. No matter how much dissatisfaction they had in their hearts, they knew when to be patient. Hence, none of them said anything. It was not that they did not want to say anything, but they wanted the other party to say it first!

Since they had been summoned together, they naturally reached their own agreement among themselves. Even the three of them may not be fully aware of this agreement. Perhaps, the rulers of the three countries knew, but they all had their own missions and they would not bring ruin to their homeland because of a mere impulse!

Liyou observed their reactions and snorted disdainfully. Although the Anbu Black Ops had not found out their mission, she, Li Yao and Long Xizhao had already guessed it and there were only a few possibilities!

War was inevitable, and this seemed to be the consensus among all the countries. It was just that everyone, including Qianhe, were waiting for the opportunity of war to arise. They all needed a reason or an opportunity to thoroughly stimulate such a battle and at the same time, they were secretly anticipating how to tilt the balance of such a war in their favor!

And hence, the envoys of the three countries had visited with such a mission in mind. The specific methods may be different, but the result would be the same.

None of the envoys wanted to be the first to speak, but Liyou no longer had the patience to wait any longer. She stood up and looked at the three of them, saying, “Since you all have nothing to say and have met Zhen, Zhen will not waste any more time here, dismissed…”

“This, Your Majesty, wait a minute, this envoy still has something to say.” Wu Siduo, the envoy from the Nan Kingdom was probably the most anxious among the envoys. After all, their kingdom bordered Qianhe and if they started a war, they were bound to be the first country to be hostile towards Qianhe.

If it was the former Qianhe, the Nan Kingdom would not be afraid of such a fight, but for some reason, the Qianhe Empress, who had always been despised by the rest of the world, had changed her temperament drastically. She had transformed from her previous image of licentiousness and had become a wise sovereign praised by everyone, a national hero who destroyed the Sang Empire while talking and laughing. With such a strong Qianhe, how could it not be feared!

Liyou stopped but did not intend to sit down again. She looked down at the speaking envoy from the Nan Kingdom, exuding awe-inspiring arrogance. The envoy from the Nan Kingdom grew speechless.

When the envoy finally calmed down, she continued with a little uneasiness: “Your Majesty, this envoy is here to propose a marriage treaty to an Imperial Prince of your country on our behalf of Her Majesty, the Empress of our country. We have heard that the princes of Qianhe possess peerless talent, appearance, character and knowledge. Her Majesty the Empress of our country intends to form a good relationship between Qinjin and the Qianhe dynasty. She also hopes that the Empress Qianhe can grant such a beautiful matter.”

Alas, everyone was afraid of death and as a ruler, that made one naturally more so. Now the whole world was spreading rumors that Empress Qianhe’s martial arts prowess was unfathomable, similar to those of supernatural beings. Just ask, who in the world would dare to risk their lives by fighting against such an individual? It was estimated that even the guarded Imperial Palace was impenetrable. What they were afraid of was not the army of Qianhe, but the ghostly Empress of Qianhe. Where there is no wind, there is no wave. For the Imperial family, the meaning of life was even more important.

Liyou’s expression turned ugly. With the lessons that were learned from the Sang Empire, weren’t these people idiots for saying such a thing?

“Empress of Qianhe, please do not misunderstand the meaning of this emissary. Her Majesty, the Empress of our country has merely made a suggestion. A marriage alliance has existed since ancient times. If the prince of your country is matched with the monarch of our country, this will not humiliate Qianhe, right?” Seeing the change in Liyou’s face, the envoy from the Nan Kingdom immediately explained. The Sang Empire’s marriage proposal was of course a well-known joke. The reason why they proposed a marriage alliance was because they had learned the lessons from watching the Sang Empire. Moreover, the Imperial Prince was to be matched with the Empress, and conferred the status of a King Consort, which was already considered giving a lot of face. Was the temptation of being King Consort in another country not enough?

The envoys of the other two countries obviously had not expected that the envoy from the Nan Kingdom had come with such a purpose in their mind. Their gazes as they looked at the envoy transformed, as if they were looking at a traitor.

But the envoy of the Nan Kingdom returned the gazes calmly, thinking she had done so very discreetly. But, she did not know that Liyou had seen every movement. Her six senses were different from ordinary people. Of course, these kinds of tricks could not escape her eyes. But, she could not predict what the Nan Kingdom was planning. Were they trying to benefit from both sides or was this a trap?

Speaking of Imperial Princes, Liyou thought of the two people she had seen that day. It was not a reportable matter if an Imperial Prince was idle. The phrase, a man should marry, was very reasonable.

“Don’t know which Imperial Prince the Empress of your country wants to marry?” Liyou seemed to be in high spirits, reclined back on the Dragon Throne and asked kindly.

The envoy from the Nan Kingdom laughed upon seeing Empress Qianhe’s reaction. Knowing that her Empress’ strategy had been effective, how could she not laugh? She changed her timid demeanor, straightened her back and said, “As my Empress said, the Empress of Qianhe may choose whatever she thinks is suitable. Then my Empress will also agree.”

“Oh, if that is the case, then Zhen must think about this carefully. After all, there are still two or three princes awaiting their marriages.

“Yes, such an important matter should be given more consideration. Both this envoy and the Empress have the same intention. I hope that the Empress can decide on such a candidate after careful consideration. After all, this will affect the future development of the two countries.” The envoy of the Nan Kingdom revealed a look of glee, an expression that clearly thought they had succeeded in their diplomatic trick.

Liyou thought about it. Could this be a means of delaying something else or was this a way to lower her guard? No matter what, such strategies were useless. In the face of absolute power, any strategy was useless.

“What about the other two envoys, anything to say?”

“Empress of Qianhe, this envoy is here to congratulate Your Majesty and to also invite the Empress to visit our country. The war has stopped and there is peace among the lands. My Empress hopes that the Empress of Qianhe can attend our Zhongli’s State Banquet. The semi centennial anniversary will be held in a month. At that time, all of the countries will be in attendance and it is also an opportunity for us four countries to enhance our relations.” Every 50 years, the Zhongli Kingdom  held a very grand and huge ceremony, and according to the custom, the heads of various countries will be invited to participate.

There was a strange look in Liyou’s eyes. Having the heads of the state participate in the grand ceremony, don’t know how many people will be able to go back safely by then.

“So that is the case. Zhen will consider it.”

The envoy from Zhongli stepped back as they still ruminated as to what the intentions of the Nan Empire were.. But, she could not help recalling what her Empress had told her. No matter what happens, one should handle their own things. The other two countries could be treated as if they do not exist. There seemed to be some mysterious principles in these words. It seemed that her Empress should know about some of the affairs of the Nan Kingdom. Thinking of this, the envoy of Zhongli was put at ease. Otherwise, if the Qianhe and the Nan Kingdom really formed an alliance, the consequences were not something that was desired.

“Empress, this envoy is here to celebrate, but as all know, my country is rich in beauties. In order to congratulate Your Majesty on such great achievements, my Empress has asked this envoy to send you as many gifts as possible. Please accept them.” The Yingjia Dynasty were known for their beautiful men and she had brought dozens of them here. All of them had been carefully selected…

“Oh, if that is the case, then Zhen will have to take a closer look….”
